Cool, I read that one, too. I think it was on Early to Rise ( http://www.earlytorise.com/ ).

While not universely true (it's harder to sell to organizations) it's something to think about when designing software. :)

Reflexive experiments a lot with different trial times. One recent hidden object game I tried from them had a trial time of only 20 minutes! I had to blink to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

In my opinion they'd be better off sticking with 60 minutes like everyone else. Giving the customer an inconsistent experience is a big no-no, and probably loses them more sales in the long run than fiddling with the trial times looking for a "sweet spot."

I just upgraded my PC too for the first time in 5 years, which is the longest I've ever waited. It's now an Intel Core 2 Duo at 3Ghz with 4GB RAM and a Geforce GTX 275 + new motherboard. Price = $700 CAD ish. Totally worth it, it's really nice now and I can play modern games again.

Interesting concept... I may have to try it out, if I ever get this wargame I just started finished. (An I mean *just* started. Currently, it's a NATO app-6a infantry counter on a green background, that you can select and give a destination to move to. I'm pretty proud if this, after 2 days. :P)
